I've recently found out that Microsoft has instructed Kol to remove VistaXP WB and VS from his website and any other website that contains it. I learned of this after an apparent untimely reformat. Therefore I'm looking for anyone who might have a copy of VistaXP WB that I could get. I'd appreciate it very much.

OK, guys...since Microsoft has requested its public removal that means they do NOT want it distributed, so asking for and receiving emails, etc will not be acceptable via Wincustomize.com

We cannot in all fairness to Microsoft facilitate the skin's dispersal via public communication/linking....

Well, I thought I would give it a shot. Thanks anyway Anne and Musical.

I am curious what Microsoft's reason for this removal is.
Copyright violation?

KoL, you reveived an email from Microsoft? Could you copy it in here? Just curious how Microsoft approaches this kind of issues.

b.t.w. KoL: great designs you have made! Love the website (studio 28).

Cheers!

Hi Musical - Could you send  me a copy of Vista that KoL made.  There is no legal barrier here guys with this skin, it by no means uses any sort of backend code that Vista would use and is not exact as to the surface look...so their is no problem.  Thanks Musical.

1. There is a "legal barrier".
2. "Backend code" is not relevant.
3. "Surface look" is not relevant.
4. There is a problem especially if someone has to type this for you (assuming you can't type if you can't read).

It is still around, you just have to dig a little on Google.  Downloaded it last night--I paid 0.99 for it--and they also had an installer package with his theme that included icon packages and all, plus the theme in both wba and msstyle format.  That one was 52mb, however, so you should have a bb connection.

So I'm clear . . [because I think you are a . . . don't wanna insult you . . .but don't know what to say . ..]

The artist pulled the skin as requested. You bought it from another site.
So even if the artist wanted it out there, some pirate site is selling it and making a profit off his work.

How is this a good thing?
